Our new inverter/charger
The MultiPlus-II combines the functions of the MultiPlus and the MultiGrid. It has all the features of the MultiPlus and additionally an option for an external current transformer to implement the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions and to optimize self-consumption with external current measurement (max. 32 A).
It also offers all the functions of the MultiGrid with the built-in anti-islanding function and an ever-growing list of countries where it is approved.
The MultiPlus-II prevents a limited AC source such as a generator or shore power connection from being overloaded. First, the battery charging process is automatically reduced to protect against overload. Next, the power of a generator or shore power supply is supplemented with energy from the battery.
The MultiPlus-II is a key component in a Victron ESS. It is very flexible and can be combined with an MPPT solar charge controller or a grid-tie inverter for PV systems.
In the event of a grid failure, or if the shore power or on-board generator is interrupted, the Multi's inverter automatically switches on and takes over the supply to the connected loads. The switchover is so fast (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic equipment is guaranteed.
In combination with a GX device (e.g., Cerbo GX), you can monitor and control your Multi systems locally (LAN) or remotely from anywhere in the world via the free VRM app and the free VRM portal. Access can be via a phone, tablet, laptop or PC with various operating systems. There is no end to the control possibilities – from setting your Multi to automatically starting a backup generator and more.

New model with 100A BMS and integrated heating
The new battery management now allows continuous charge and discharge currents up to 100A, as well as peak charge and discharge currents of 120A for 3 minutes and 180A for 15 seconds. This means that even large consumers can be reliably supplied with energy and the storage capacity can be reduced in relation to the inverter power.
The new V5°α storage unit is equipped with an integrated heating mat, which allows charging of the storage unit below 0°C. If the internal temperature of the storage unit is below 0°C, the charging current is initially used to heat the cells via the integrated heater. When a certain cell temperature above 0°C is reached, the heater switches off and the charging current flows unhindered into the storage unit. Where other storage units cannot be charged due to low temperatures despite high solar yield, the Pytes V5°α with integrated heating fully demonstrates its strength.
Up to 14 of these storage units can be connected to form a group, achieving a capacity of 71.68 kWh. Using an optionally available hub, up to 6 groups can be combined, resulting in a total capacity of 430.08 kWh. The system can grow with your requirements.
In addition to the known interfaces, the new V5°α storage unit has a connection for an optionally available Wi-Fi stick. This allows a connection to an existing network. This enables remote monitoring and remote maintenance of the storage units via the network. If multiple storage units are connected in parallel, one Wi-Fi stick per group is sufficient.
The Pytes home storage units are primarily used as solar storage to maximize the self-consumption of generated solar energy. A grid-tied solar system that previously fed completely into the grid can thus be used for self-consumption. But pure off-grid systems can also significantly increase their storage capacity through the use of the 5 kWh storage modules.
During the day – when electricity consumption is usually relatively low, but the solar system is delivering maximum output – the surplus energy is stored in the storage modules. In the evening, at night, or during peak loads, the energy from the storage modules is used to cover your own electricity needs. This significantly reduces electricity purchases from the public utility and prevents expensive solar energy from being fed into the grid cheaply. Depending on the design/size of the solar system and storage, almost 100% self-sufficiency can be achieved. With a grid-tied solar system, only the surplus when the solar storage is full is fed into the public grid.
Furthermore, these storage units are increasingly being used as an emergency power solution to maintain the operation of essential consumers during power outages.
If multiple storage modules are connected directly in parallel using the supplied bridging cables and the current draw is crosswise (plus from the first and minus from the last storage unit), the max. continuous current is 100A regardless of the number of storage modules. If higher charge and discharge currents are required, the individual storage modules must each be routed to a positive and negative busbar. The connection of the inverters or chargers is then made directly to the busbar. This multiplies the possible current draw from the battery pack. With two storage modules it would be 200A, with three storage modules 300A, etc.
SmartSolar MPPT
The MPPT VE.Can SmartSolar charger uses the latest and fastest technology to convert energy from a solar installation into energy that optimally charges a battery bank.
The SmartSolar charge controller can even recharge a deeply discharged battery. It can operate with a battery voltage as low as 0 volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulfated or otherwise damaged.
The MPPT VE.Can SmartSolar charger is connected to a PV array with 150 or 250 volt Voc and automatically detects and charges your 12, 24 or 48V battery bank with currents ranging from 70 to 100A, depending on the model.
The charging settings are fully programmable and can even be set for different battery chemistries such as lead-acid, lithium and others.
The MPPT VE.Can SmartSolar charger can be remotely controlled and configured via Bluetooth using the VictronConnect App. This allows device setup, management and information at a glance such as battery voltage and current, PV voltage and current, and historical data.
The VE.Can SmartSolar charger is equipped with CAN bus connections. This allows communication with other VE.Can SmartSolar chargers. The additional devices are simply "daisy-chained" using a single RJ45 cable between the individual devices.
When connected together, all individual VE.Can SmartSolar chargers synchronize their charging stages. They can also send their data to a GX monitoring device via a single cable.
When the GX device is connected to the internet, the Victron Remote Management Portal (VRM) provides access to the full power of your solar chargers. For remote installations – even when no internet connection is nearby – you may be able to monitor your MPPT by connecting the GlobalLink 520.

Thomas Heilmann, born in 1971, trained in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, law and sales, started the company in 1997 with a focus on telecommunications. Over the years, the company has continuously evolved. Technological advances constantly posed new challenges to the company. In 2018, we initiated the technology transformation from the telecommunications and IT sector to energy technology.
